Meet Newt's Daughters - Kathy Lubbers and Jackie Cushman
Kathy Gingrich Lubbers
Focused on brand optimization, credentialing, and marketing, Kathy Gingrich Lubbers is the President of Celebrity Leaders, a talent management group, Lubbers Enterprises Inc. a strategic management firm, and a Senior Advisor to Newt 2012.
Lubbers served as President and CEO of Gingrich Communications, Inc. for over a decade ending in April of 2011. Throughout that time period, she led the Gingrich Communications team in promoting the visibility of Speaker Newt Gingrich. Their efforts were invaluable in upholding and increasing the branding, credentialing, marketing, and intellectual standing of Speaker Gingrich and conveying his message to the American people.
She and her team managed all aspects of the Speaker’s communications strategies, including print, television, radio, and online interviews; research; public policy; Congressional testimonies; public speaking; audio and book publication. In the process of executing these strategies for Speaker Gingrich her team’s role included management of Internet and online presence at Newt.org and TheAmericano.com, Speaker Gingrich’s weekly e-newsletter to 850,000 readers, e-marketing, and social networking efforts that garnered over one million followers on Twitter and 120,000 Facebook fans.
Kathy’s a strong believer that through a team-centered philosophy, more can be accomplished than ever by one individual. Her background and management style clearly illustrate such an approach.
Cutting her teeth in the world of public service and leadership in the 1970s, Kathy participated in a point-counter point radio interview in Atlanta’s major media market early on in her life. She has been interviewed on radio and TV dozens of times since and by print media hundreds of times. She has a wide-ranging background as a management trainer and as a public speaker. Additionally, she wrote book reviews and articles throughout the 1990s while living in Greensboro, NC where she owned and operated a wholesale-retail coffee roasting business for seven years.
An active participant in non-profit organizations throughout the years, she is currently an active member of the National Board of Directors of the Arthritis Foundation where she leads the External Relations Committee, which is responsible for marketing, communications and fundraising. There, she leverages having lived with Rheumatoid Arthritis for over 20 years to sharpen her commitment to creating opportunities for further research in order to achieve the goal of a world free of arthritis pain. As a member of the Arthritis Foundation she is proud of its role as a cause leader and THE leader in private funding of research. Additionally, Ms. Lubbers has been spokesperson for the Vibrant Lives program sponsored by Wyeth.
Ms. Lubbers is a co-founder and a board member of Learning Makes a Difference Foundation, with her sister Jackie Cushman, a not-for-profit focused on piloting and testing innovative learning opportunities.
Ms. Lubbers holds a BA in Religious Studies from Davidson College. She resides with her husband Paul, in Key Biscayne, Florida.

Their book focuses on the principles that Jackie follows in her daily life: Dream Big, Work Hard, Learn Every Day, Enjoy Life and Be True to Yourself. In March 2010, Jackie was nominated for a Georgia Writer's Association (GWA) Georgia Author of the Year Award.
Her latest book, “The Essential American: 25 Documents and Speeches that Every American Should Own” (Regnery) provides the fundamental documents of our nation’s history, including the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, the text of speeches that have inspired the nation, including Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address and President Ronald Reagan’s “Tear Down This Wall” Speech, as well as several lesser-known documents and speeches that forged our nation’s character.

Jackie lives in Atlanta with her husband Jimmy Cushman, Jr., and their children.
Jackie graduated cum laude from Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C. She received her MBA from Georgia State University in Atlanta and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
